Southern Province · beach town
Mirissa
A curved bay on the south coast for swimming, whale watching and slow afternoons — a classic end to a hill-country itinerary.
Hill-country town, Uva Province → Beach town, southern coast
A private transfer from the mountains to the beach — one of the most popular single-day changes of scene in Sri Lanka.
The journey
You start in tea country, descend into the dry south-east and then join the coast road for the final run to Mirissa. There are two practical routes — across the Yala and Tissa junction, or back through Balangoda and down the expressway — and we choose based on traffic and where you want to stop. Either way, the day ends with the temperature rising and the smell of the ocean.
This route runs in both directions. Travelling the other way — Mirissa to Ella — uses the same vehicle options and the same pricing approach.
Along the way
This is a day where the stops make the journey. Tell us if you would rather keep it direct for a late check-in, or stretch it into a full day with lunch and a walk at Galle.

FAQ
Around three and a half to four and a half hours, depending on the route and stops. It is a full but comfortable driving day, and we plan the stops so it never feels like one long stretch in a seat.
If you have the time, yes — Galle Fort sits naturally on the western route and makes an excellent lunch stop. If you are arriving late, we will keep the drive direct instead.
It works if you start mid-morning after the walk, though the day becomes long. We will be honest with you about timing if you also have a fixed dinner booking or boat trip.
