Booking & pricing
Do you provide airport transfers?
Yes. We meet you at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) with a name board, monitor your flight number and drive you to your hotel or next destination anywhere in Sri Lanka — including on departure day.
Can I book a private car for several days?
Yes. You can book a single transfer, a full-day hire, or keep the same vehicle and chauffeur for a multi-day tour. The car does not change between stops unless you ask for a different vehicle category.
Can I customize my itinerary?
That is most of what we do. Send us your dates, the places you want to see and how fast you like to travel, and we will suggest a practical route with realistic driving times.
Will I have the same driver throughout my tour?
On a multi-day tour, the same chauffeur stays with you from pick-up to drop-off. If anything changes during the trip, you are speaking to the same person rather than a new driver each morning.
Are the vehicles air-conditioned?
Yes. Every vehicle we arrange is air-conditioned, which matters more than it sounds on coastal roads and in the lowlands.
How many people can travel in each vehicle?
We work with sedans for up to three passengers, SUVs for up to four, and vans for up to seven or eight depending on the layout. We assign the vehicle to your group and luggage rather than the other way round.
How much luggage can I bring?
Tell us your bag count when you enquire. Two large cases fit a sedan, three fit an SUV, and a van takes six or more. If you are carrying surfboards, dive gear or a pushchair, mention it so we assign the right vehicle.
Can you pick us up from our hotel?
Yes — hotel, villa, guesthouse or holiday rental. Give us the property name and we confirm the pickup point, including places with narrow access roads where the car has to stop short.
Can we make stops during a transfer?
Yes, and we would encourage it on longer drives. Stopping for food, photos, waterfalls or a stretch is normal on a private transfer, not an exception you have to negotiate.
Can you help plan our itinerary?
Yes. We will tell you honestly which combinations work, which days become too long, and where people usually lose half a day. We plan routes around your interests rather than a fixed package.
Can we combine train travel with private transportation?
A very common arrangement. Many guests ride the Kandy–Ella train while their chauffeur carries the luggage and meets them at the other end, so you get the famous journey without hauling cases up platform stairs.
Do you provide child seats?
Tell us the ages of your children when you enquire and we will confirm what is available for your dates rather than promise equipment we cannot guarantee.
How does payment work?
We confirm the price and the payment method with you before the trip, in writing. Nothing is charged until you have seen and agreed the quote.
What is included in the quoted price?
The private vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel, tolls and the agreed pickup and drop-off. If a quote includes anything else, it will be listed explicitly on that quote.
What is not included?
Hotels, meals, entrance tickets, safari jeeps and park fees, train or boat tickets and personal expenses are not part of a transport quote unless we state otherwise in writing.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as your flights and hotels are fixed. Transfers can often be arranged at short notice, but multi-day tours, peak season dates and popular train connections are much easier to plan with a few weeks' notice.
Can I contact you on WhatsApp?
Yes — WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us, before and during your trip. Send your route, dates and group size and we will reply with availability and a price.
Do you operate outside Ella and the hill country?
Yes. We are based near Ella but arrange transfers and tours island-wide: the Cultural Triangle, the south and east coasts, the national parks and the airport corridors.
Transfers & journeys
How do I get a price for a transfer?
Send us the route, date, number of passengers and luggage, and we reply with a price for the whole vehicle. We do not publish prices we have not verified for your dates, because route, vehicle and timing all change the number.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Quoted prices are per vehicle for your group, not per person. That is why private transfers often work out well for families and small groups travelling together.
What if our flight is delayed?
Give us your flight number when you book and we track it. A delayed arrival moves your pickup — you are not charged for waiting because your plane landed late.
Can we book a one-way transfer only?
Yes. One-way transfers are a core part of what we do — airport to hills, hills to coast, coast back to the airport, or any combination in between.
Multi-day tours
What is the difference between a tour and a transfer?
A transfer moves you between two places on one day. A tour keeps the same vehicle and chauffeur for several days with a planned route, overnight stops and sightseeing built in.
Do multi-day tour prices include hotels?
No. Our tours cover the private vehicle, the chauffeur and the planning. You book your own accommodation — which also means you choose the standard and pay the property directly.
Can we use our own hotels and bookings?
Absolutely. Send us the bookings you already have and we will build the route around them rather than moving you to something else.
How much time is spent in the car each day?
On most of our itineraries, two to four hours of driving on a travel day, with stops. We deliberately avoid stacking long drives back to back, because that is what makes a holiday tiring.
